About the Project

A pop-up leaflet as the centrepiece of a direct mail campaign. From the outside, it looks like a flat envelope and, at first glance, doesn’t stand out in any way. It is only when opened that a striking three-dimensional effect is revealed. In this case, the client provided the graphic design. We handled the printing and assembly.

Pop-up cards are an experience that the recipient literally ‘opens’ in their hands. Their power stems from the element of surprise, interaction and high memorability. In a world overloaded with digital communication, the three-dimensional form effectively captures attention, engages emotions and extends engagement with the brand.

Pop-ups work because they trigger curiosity — the recipient doesn’t just read the message, they experience it. This makes the communication feel more premium, personal and harder to ignore than a standard leaflet or email.

In direct mail, pop-up cards work brilliantly for sales campaigns, VIP invitations, product launches or employer branding initiatives. It is a format that creates a ‘wow’ effect, reinforces the perceived value of the brand and significantly increases the chance that the mail won’t end up in the bin straight away.
